Jeffrey S. Gurock

Jeffrey S. Gurock is Libby M. Klaperman Professor of Jewish history at Yeshiva University. He was twice the chair of the Academic Council of the American Jewish Historical Society. Gurock is the author or editor of twenty-one books, including, Jews in Gothem: New York Jews in a Changing City 1920-2010 (NYU Press) which won the Everett Jewish book of the year prize from the Jewish Book Council in 2012. His most recent book is The Jews of Harlem: The Rise, Decline, and Revival of a Jewish Community (NYU Press, 2016).
